Tirage #2, après-demain!

(Oui, moi nerd. Et alors?)

The 2nd pair of socks in the series will be drawn on this coming Tuesday. (See the chocolate, orange and steel pair on the sidebar to the right.) Got any little 'uns who NEED a pair of comfy wool socks for sliding, skating, and having fun outside?
A preview of the 4th and last pair of socks for this series of raffles! (Holy crap. The winner of this pair will be drawn at the end of March. This means that I am a full 2 months ahead of schedule! Wait a second: should I have even said that? Have I just jinxed my process?)

Patron: Interrupted (lien Ravelry). Elle me fascine.

Pair of socks #3!!

Les chaussettes 'Old-Timer' sont terminées! The Old-Timer socks are done! (The socks are currently on display at the school, for the curious:: one in the trophy cabinet in the entry hall; and the other in the cafeteria...)

Sock on the right foot: inside-out. (I love me a view of the 'wrong' side. The parallax view of my chunky legs and messy tabletop, not so much. )

The draw for this pair is slated for Wed. February 29th. Which means you have 36 days left to get your tickets!

We have a winner in Draw #1! Et pour le gagnant des chaussettes novice::

Drum roll, please....

**

The winner is Sutton resident Jane P. (very à propos, I am glad Jane won these for one of her grandsons, since she is very active in our community and the Stephen Lewis Foundation's "Grandmothers to Grandmothers" Campaign. Another very worthy cause...

**(Elliot at his most maniacal, on purpose I believe!!!)

Sneak preview of the sock to be drawn in February, the 'Old-Timer' size (adult medium).

I had started with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge striped Regia yarn, which is fun, but an entire sock? I did not love. Ripped back on the weekend of December 10th to accommodate a more 'manly' (?) charcoal-grey main colour for the sock, keeping the stripes for accents on the cuff and heel/toe. I love them madly. Love the K3, P1 rib (pattern from the WiseHilda blog).

Socks being knitted are not very photogenic, apologies. They just kind of lie there, flaccid, tout mou... More fun, I believe, when someone offers their own foot and gingerly poses with the needles poking out all around...

As for those colours -- the red, white and blue combo is just so evocative. Not many French or American people I know would wear such a combination -- or would they?

Even though the blue is not exactly right, the red-white-navy combination is Elliot's team jersey (and has been for the last 4 years!) And in the words of Loco Locass:
